Jeff Markham is the owner of and investigator for Barton Investigations. He is also David's father. Jeff has an extensive background in law enforcement and investigations. He retired from the Lake County Sheriff's Department in 2005 after 36 years with the department and 39 years as a peace officer. Jeff began his career with the Sheriff's Department as an investigator and eventually reached the position of Chief Deputy where his duties included supervision of the detective division of the Sheriff's Department.
Jeff graduated from the FBI National Academy in 1982 and has received over 1,000 hours of Peace Officer Standards and Training instruction. Jeff has taught law enforcement courses at Yuba Community College, Mendocino Community College, and Santa Rosa Community College.
Jeff has his office in Lakeport and has been a resident of Lake County since 1969. He knows the county and its people well.
Jeff received his private investigation license in 2008. Although, Jeff was new to private investigations, success came to him quickly. The first case he investigated for David was dismissed based in large part on Jeff's investigation.
Clients who hire David are free to hire the investigator they choose. However, David's clients will receive a 15% discount off Jeff's standard rate of $60 per hour when they use the services of Barton Investigations.
